During this time, DragonForce toured with the likes of Iron Maiden and W.A.S.P and increasingly became headliners themselves. Their sophomore album, “Sonic Firestorm” (2004) was even more successful than their debut, with lead single “Fury of the Storm” becoming another fan favorite. The lead single from the album is one of their most well-known songs and is still an integral part of the band’s performances today. In the same year, the band signed to Noise Records and began recording their debut album, also titled “Valley of the Damned”. In 2002, the power-metallers released their debut single “Valley of the Damned”, and officially changed their name to DragonForce, after finding out that another band were performing under the name DragonHeart. DragonForce have undergone several line-up changes over the years the band currently comprises of lead vocalist and frontman Marc Hudson (he replaced ZP Heart in 2010), founding guitarists Herman Li and Sam Totman, bassist Frederic Leclercq, keyboardist Vadim Pruzhanov and drummer Gee Anzalone. Originally called “DragonHeart”, the band released an independent demo in 2000, swiftly making them one of the most popular independent power metal bands in the UK. The band was founded in 1999 by guitarists Herman Li and Sam Totman, who had previously played together in New Zealand-based black metal band Demoniac.
